A number puzzle where the goal keeps moving
Tiles 1 to 9 come one at a time. Place each on the 5x5 board so a row or column adds up to exactly the line total, and it clears. Every few clears the total shifts, so no plan lasts for long. Short games, no timer, and a Daily Rush when you want one.
How to play
Learn it in a minute. Count to 25, then count faster.
Place a tile
A tile comes off the stack. Tap an empty cell. You can see the next one, and hold one back for later.
Hit the total
Fill a whole row or column so it adds up to exactly the line total and it clears. Two at once pays double. Overshoot and the line is stuck.
Keep up with the shift
Every few clears the total moves. Play for lines that still fit, and use the Total Shift when the board turns against you.

The line total starts at 25 and moves every few clears. A line that was perfect a moment ago may need one more tile, or one fewer.
The Total Shift
The hero move. Every ring of the board turns one step, then you pick the new total from the ones on offer. Full lines clear at once.
Daily Rush
Ninety seconds, a fixed total, no mines, and the same board for everyone that day. Climb the ladder of lines for coins and tools.
Five tools
Undo a move, swap the tile in hand, smash a tile off the board, turn a tile wild, or arm a shield before a risky placement.
Mines and gold
Something is buried on every stage. Find the gold and it pays; hit a mine and the rubble blocks a line until a neighbouring clear crumbles it.
Plays offline
Three-minute games that need no connection. Rewarded ads are optional and a one-time purchase removes the rest.
Pick your pace
Three difficulties for the main game, and the Daily Rush when you have ninety seconds.
Easy
Nothing buried until stage 3, a warning when you are about to overshoot, gentle shifts.
Normal
One mine and two gold cells per stage. One and a half times the coins and score.
Hard
Fast, wide shifts. Two mines and one gold cell per stage. Double coins.
Daily Rush
Ninety seconds, no tools, no mines, four gold cells. One go a day, and another if you watch an ad.
Questions
Is Total Shift free?
Yes. Every tool and the Daily Rush can be reached by playing. Coins can also be bought, and a one-time No Ads purchase removes the occasional ad between games. Rewarded ads are always optional.
Can I try it without installing anything?
Soon. Total Shift is coming to Google Play and the App Store, free. It is made for phones and tablets; there is no browser version.
Do I need an account?
No. There is nothing to sign up for. Your progress is saved on your device.
What happens when I overshoot the total?
A full line that adds up to more than the total is stuck: it cannot clear until the total shifts to match it, a tool removes a tile, or a Total Shift turns the board. Easy mode warns you before you place a tile that would overshoot.
Is it suitable for children?
There is no chat and no user content. The game includes optional purchases and ads, so it is intended for players 13 and up or with a parent's permission.
